Wrestler Vladislav Arventi was eliminated in the 1/8 finals of the World Taekwondo Championship that is held in Russia’s Chelyabinsk, IPN reports.
In the 68 kg class, Arventi scored two victories, against Trunka Duka Fana of Vietnam 12-7, and against Uzbekistan’s Vladislav Hana 13-4. In the 1/8 finals, the Moldovan athlete lost to the American wrestler Terrence Jennigs 4-7.
Earlier, Moldova’s Vadim Dimitrov (58 kg class) was eliminated in the second round. At the competition that involves athletes from 130 countries, Moldova is also represented by Stepan Dimitrov (54 kg), Andrei Rotaru (63 kg) and Aaron Cook (80 kg).
