Vladimir Voronin: The puppet masters of the Transnistrian conflict should be looked for in Moscow

The settlement of the Transnistrian conflict is hindered by organised groups of criminals that are very interested in keeping this “black hole” to smuggle goods and assemble guns, said Moldovan president Vladimir Voronin in an interview to the Russian press agency “RIA-Novosti”. According to the head of the state, to unblock these interests, it is simply needed that Kremlin, particularly the top-leadership of Russian, wishes that. Voronin has also mentioned that the separatist leaders from Tiraspol are just some puppets and the puppeteers should be looked for in Moscow. “The keys for solving this conflict are in Moscow” he pointed out. Vladimir Voronin expressed his belief that, in less than two years, this problem could be solved, as there are all the preconditions for it. At the same time, he denied the existence of any economic blockade imposed by Chisinau on the Transnistrian region. The head of the state has also stated in the same interview that Moldova intends to be become an EU member within the next 10 years, keeping its sovereignty, integrity, and the status of a neutral state.
