Vladimir Voronin seeks to renovate “Luceafarul” Theatre
President of Moldova Vladimir Voronin came up the idea of a reconstruction plan of the “Luceafarul” Theatre in order to urgently renovate this cultural institution, the press service of the head of state reports, cited by Info-Prim Neo. Voronin framed these tasks for the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, municipal authorities, and designing institutions, during the visit he paid to the theatre’s building on December 15.
Boris Focsa, the art director of the theatre informed the head of state about the problems the institution faces, emphasizing upon the deplorable state of the buildings, which are mainly affected by the underground water, and also upon the bad state of the furniture. Despite these difficulties, the theatre’s troupe is successful both in the country and abroad, the theatre’s director said.
The head of state mentioned that his visit was not accidental, but was preceded by an analysis on the state of affaires. Vladimir Voronin also specified that a meeting with Luceafarul’s troupe would be helpful in order to identify efficient solutions to the existing problems.
President was concerned about the technical state of the “Luceafarul” Theatre and the difficult conditions under which the members of its staff have to work. He urged decision-makers in the field to have a more serious attitude towards the problems, which the theatre faces in order to ensure favourable conditions for actors and their activity.
