Vladimir Voronin says present government takes revenge on his family
Communist leader Vladimir Voronin, Moldova’s former president, said the summoning of his son
Oleg Voronin to the Center for Combating Corruption and Economic Crime (CCCEC) is nothing but revenge taken on his family. Prime Minister Vlad Filat recommends yet Oleg Voronin to come before the prosecution bodies and prove his innocence, Info-Prim Neo reports.
“They want very much to invite me, but cannot. Thus, they take revenge on my family. They try to find something before the early elections,” Voronin said.
Asked if his son will go to the CCCEC after postponing the first meeting, Vladimir Voronin said he was a citizen of Moldova and will comply.
“I went every time I was cited even if I had parliamentary immunity. I advice citizen Oleg Voronin to do the same as he must prove his innocence,” said Premier Vlad Filat, the president of the PLDM.
Oleg Voronin was summoned to go to the CCCEC on February 17 to explain the origin of large amounts of money that he used during the last two years. But he asked that the hearing be put off as he was abroad.
