Vladimir Voronin reelected as Communists’ Leader

The 6th congress of the Moldovan Communists Party (PCRM) ended. During the whole day of March 15, the PCRM members, headed by their leader Vladimir Voronin, presented new strategies of the future program of the PCRM, as well as various reports of the work of the parliamentary faction, Info-Prim Neo reports. After the procedure of analyzing the new program of the PCRM and presenting the reports, the delegates proceeded to the task of electing the president of the Communist organization. Vladimir Voronin was reinvested at the PCRM’s steering wheel by majority of votes. Opening the event, the president of the party, Vladimir Voronin, the incumbent president of the Republic of Moldova, said that the importance of the new party program would tell not only on the development of the party, but also on the progress of Moldovan society and of the country’s statehood. 412 delegates join the congress representing Communist parties from Russia, Ukraine and China, and the Socialist Alliance from Romania. The congress lasted till 22.00 late in the evening. For the first time, the event was broadcasted live on the internet through the PCRM’s official web-page at www.pcrm.md.
