Vladimir Voronin considers the PCRM, PSRM and PDM, of the center-left, should conclude an agreement. The Communists’ leader developed the issue in the talk show “Moldova live” on Moldova 1 channel, IPN reports.
“If things do not go other way, the PCRM, PSRM and PDM can reach an agreement. This would be a simple agreement, not an alliance. We will have together 64 votes and could do a lot, including voting in the Cabinet and choosing the President,” stated Voronin.
The leader of the PCRM considers the PSRM will have no other way out and will accept this proposal. “The Socialists should think how to deliver on their promises made in the election campaign. If they only stage protests, they will lose people’s confidence. The local office of the PSRM in Ialoveni district held recently a meeting and only ten persons came to it,” he said.
The politician explained his previous statements about the European integration. “I didn’t say that we want Moldova to integrate into Europe. I spoke only about the country’s modernization,” said Voronin.
Vladimir Voronin noted that the current President should resign. “With 64 votes that we will have, we will be able to first choose the President and then to form the government. Timofti’s tenure ends in three months. He is a good man and we thank him for his work, but we will ask him to leave. I think he will accept,” he said.
Asked why he didn’t initiate a dialogue with all the parliamentary parties for forming a broad coalition, Vladimir Voronin said this is impossible. “This is an evening fairytale for children. The interests are too great. They will not give up,” he stated.
