Former head of state Vladimir Voronin, the leader of the Communists Party, considers that the president of the Supreme Court of Justice Ion Muruianu is the most honest and intelligent judge in Moldova. Voronin made the statement during a break in the Parliament’s sitting on February 19, Info-Prim Neo reports. The statement comes after journalists, representatives of the civil society and MPs criticized Ion Muruianu for his statements, when he compared the Moldovan journalists with rabid dogs that denigrate the judiciary. “Muruianu is the most honest judge in Moldova. It is rare to find such judges these days,” said Voronin. During the Parliament’s sitting, a number of MPs of the ruling coalition made common cause with a group of journalists who protested in front of the building where the legislative body meets. The journalists demanded that Muruianu be dismissed from the post.
