Vladimir Voronin holds post of president unconstitutionally, jurist

Lawyer Constantin Lazar has said that Moldova witnesses a large-scale juridical crisis established by Vladimir Voronin, who has held the position of head of state unconstitutionally from April 8. He stated for Info-Prim Neo that the Greceanyi Government- 2 is also unconstitutional. According to Lazar, nine MPs voted for the Greceanyi Government – 2 though they held by two incompatible jobs. Among these were Voronin, Greceanyi herself, Dodon and others. The incompatibility of the posts appeared on April 22, when the parliamentary elections were validated. “Only in a dictatorial country, could the MP Greceanyi vote for a Prime Minister Greceanyi. “If we admit that Voronin held the post of president of Moldova legally when the Government was approved, he did not have the constitutional right to take part in the vote because the head of state puts forward the candidates for Prime Minister after obligatorily holding consultations with the parliamentary groups, “Constantin Lazar said. The lawyer also said that the parties that entered now the Parliament should base their actions on the present situation in Moldova, which is in financial, banking, economic and moral crises. He stressed that in the present circumstances, Voronin should admit defeat and, together with the other parliamentary groups, start work and make everything possible to avoid the deepening of the political crisis. Otherwise, the voters will ask him what stability he provided. In the future Parliament, the PCRM will most likely have 48 seats as it polled 44.76% of the vote.
