The leader of the Party of Communists of the Republic of Moldova Vladimir Voronin said he does not yet prepare a successor as president of the PCRM. The politician noted he has yet power to lead the party. He developed the issue in the talk show “Politics of Natalia Morari” on TV8 channel, IPN reports.
The Communist leader said the decisions concerning the leadership of the party are taken by the party’s congress and it is a matter of time. The congress will decide both the problem of the post of president and a strategy for taking part in the campaign prior to the parliamentary elections. “This is not my duty. It is the duty of my mates and my team,” stated Vladimir Voronin
He also said that he was repeatedly advised to modify the name of the party. “Since our party was founded, and it will be 25 years on October 22 this year, attempts to destroy us were permanently made - when we were in power and earlier when we were in the opposition, and now too, only because we bear the name of the Party of Communists. These attempts do not stop both inside and outside the country,” said the leader of the PCRM.
As regards this year’s parliamentary elections, Vladimir Voronin said the party he heads will definitely enter Parliament, but he cannot anticipate how many seats of MP they will gain.
