2008 has been a good year for Moldova, in generally, president Vladimir Voronin told media. “Although the country has had to suffer from floods, and there are concerns related to the world financial crisis, the consequences of which are not yet felt in Moldova, most of the results are positive,” said the president after the last sitting of the Cabinet. “We've had a rich harvest, and given the financial crisis there are no markets to sell it. But, in general, all the planned objectives, including the ones related to the European integration, have been accomplished. The budget was executed in terms of incomes and expenditures. The salaries, pensions and indemnities were paid,” the president said. According to Vladimir Voronin, we have successes in carrying out the social programs. “Social institutions are opened ever day. This is to prove that the social orientation of our policies is backed through concrete facts,” he said. Vladimir Voronin considers that the main objective of 2009 consists in deepening the results reached in 2008.
