Vladimir Turcan seeks modification of Parliament's regulations
MP Vladimir Turcan demands modifying the Parliament's regulations so that they could constitute the United Moldova faction. Otherwise, he says, the group of unaffiliated MPs representing the United Moldova Party will not come to the parliamentary sittings, Info-Prim Neo reports.
The regulations say that the parliamentary groups are constituted during tens days of the day when the Parliament starts work. Vladimir Turcan says the political rights of the unaffiliated MPs are thus violated as the MPs of the United Moldova Party cannot create a group.
“The unaffiliated MPs are deprived of the right to field candidates for the permanent delegations, are not consulted when the Parliament appoints persons to posts and cannot put forward proposals for modifying the agenda,” Vladimir Turcan said. He also said that a parliamentary group can consist of five MPs given that the electoral ceiling is 5%.
The group of unaffiliated MPs of the United Moldova Party includes five former Communist MPs – Vladimir Turcan, Victor Stepaniuc, Valentin Guznac, Ludmila Belchenkova and Svetlana Rusu.
