Vladimir Turcan not member of legislative body's Standing Bureau anymore

The Communist faction demanded that the Parliament exclude unaffiliated MP Vladimir Turcan from its Standing Bureau. The legislature voted to exclude the MP, but Turcan announced his withdrawal earlier, Info-Prim Neo reports. The Communists proposed that Vladimir Turcan be replaced by the Communist MP Galina Balmos in the Standing Bureau. The changes were necessary as on December 15, 2009 Vladimir Turcan announced he decided to defect from the parliamentary group of the PCRM. For the same reasons, the Communists demanded that unaffiliated MP Valentin Guznac be dismissed from the post of chairman of the commission for public administration, environment and regional development. Valentin Guznac could be replaced by Communist MP Violeta Ivanov. The proposals aroused the MP's dissatisfaction. Oleg Serebrian, of the Democratic Party, said now that the PCRM faction includes fewer members, it should not hold the chairmanship of four permanent parliamentary commissions. In order to clam things down, the chairman of the legal commission for appointments and immunities Ion Plesca asked that the bill be sent back for additional examination.
