Vladimir Turcan demands Minister of Defense be dismissed
MP Vladimir Turcan, the leader of the United Moldova Party, asked Prime Minister Vlad Filat to initiate the procedure for dismissing Vitalie Marinuta from the post of Minister of Defense. Turcan made the proposal after the Liberal-Democratic majority in the Parliament rejected the request to invite Vitalie Marinuta to the Government to provide explanations over the statements made for the Romanian press, Info-Prim Neo reports.
Vladimir Turcan said in the interview given to the radio station Radio Romania Actualitati and the news agency Agerpres, Vitalie Marinuta abused his position. Speaker Mihai Ghimpu, Moldova’s Acting President, replied that Turcan’s assertions are not true and recommended that he read the interview ‘in original.”
As to Vitalie Marinuta’s dismissal, Mihai Ghimpu said “Turcan sees himself on a white horse, but is still on a mare.”
