Vladimir Socor: Moldova remains a country of political anarchy

The negotiations to form a ruling alliance between the PLDM, PDM and PL revealed that these were actually a political raid, political analyst of the Jamestown Foundation and its Eurasia Daily Monitor Vladimir Socor said in the talk show “Place for dialogue” on Radio Moldova station, IPN reports.

“It’s strange why the EU Delegation to Moldova didn’t intervene. The Republic of Moldova remains a country of political anarchy. In the talks, the PDM and PL defended their own interests, while the PLDM was forced to make concessions by blackmail. The arrest of four of Filat’s relatives in the period of the negotiations and the defection of an MP from the PLDM are elements of blackmail aimed at making the party’s leader concede,” stated Socor.

As to the leaving of MP Nicolae Juravschi, the analyst said that this stated he will cooperate with Iurie Leanca, but the benefits of such an act were actually enjoyed by the PDM. It was a move aimed at diminishing the force of the most powerful pro-European party, the PLDM.

Socor noted that the Alliance for European Integration 3 is a necessary ‘evil’ and that the only solution is for the leader of the PLDM, not for a person without the necessary political power, to be appointed as Premier.
