Oleg Vasnetsov is the new Ambassador of Russia to Moldova. A decree to this effect was signed by the President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin on July 1, IPN reports.

Oleg Vasnetsov worked at the embassies in Sofia and Paris and at the Central Bureau of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Russia, the Department for Cultural Relations and UNESCO and the Department for Relations with Regions of Russia.

Farit Muhametshin, who was named Ambassador to Moldova in 2012, completed his duties at the start of this year, but remained in Chisinau until his replacement arrives.
