Democratic MP Vladimir Cebotari, whose parliamentary immunity was lifted last days, claims that this was done for purely political reasons. In his opinion, the first 100 days of the rule of the current political coalition represent a total failure because it has nothing to offer de facto to citizens, except for a political show.
"Thus it was necessary to look for scapegoats, to try to show that they allegedly want to establish justice, but in fact, they only establish injustice," said Vladimir Cebotari on "Replica" program, Prime TV.
According to him, the current authorities did nothing in the first 100 days of governing to cancel the airport fees paid by every citizen who takes off from the Airport. "I assure you that the intentions of the current government, as they materialise, are to maintain these concession relations. However, they would not have made such dramatic mistakes like intentionally losing a civil case they want to take to court. The way they act shows us very clearly that it will lead to the loss of this legal dispute," the Democrat said.
Sor Party MP Denis Ulanov claims that the withdrawal of parliamentary immunity of the four MPs, Petru Jardan, Marina Tauber and Reghina Apostolova from the Șor Party, but also of the Democratic MP Vladimir Cebotari, means nothing more than a political order, a hunt for opposition MPs, a political inquisition. "If at the beginning of last week, we still had some questions, by the end of the week there were no more questions," says Denis Ulanov. In his opinion, the "persecution" of the opposition MPs is President Igor Dodon’s doing. "
Journalist Nicolae Federiuc argues that he noticed a forcing of the issue on the eve of the election campaign and only representatives of the opposition are targeted. The journalist contends that he also observes certain procedural violations in the case of government actions on the subject of airport concession and believes that this could lead to the loss of the case at the European Court of Human Rights.
A few days ago, the parliamentary immunity of MPs Petru Jardan and Vladimir Cebotari was lifted in order to take criminal prosecution actions related to the taking over of the assets of Chisinau International Airport "by a criminal group led by Ilan Șor". Also, the parliamentary immunity of MPs Marina Tauber and Reghina Apostolova was lifted in connection with their involvement in the banking system fraud.
