Vladimir Bolea: There is a danger of dissatisfaction arising following the selection of Prosecutor General

MP of PAS group, ACUM bloc, Vladimir Bolea argues that there is a danger that after the contest of the prosecutor general selection there will be dissatisfaction in society because the judicial system does not work and is very corrupt. The statement was made on the set of "Black Box" show on TV8, IPN reports.

"We have to start the reform process and then all these candidate selection commissions will function," stated the MP. At the same time, according to Vladimir Bolea, if an evaluation of the judges were made, according to the practice of other countries, the number of those who would continue to work in the system could be over 50%.

The parliamentarian mentions that the current governing coalition will exist for as long as there is certainty that things are going well, including the General Prosecutor's Office. Bolea says that there were some suspicions regarding the four people who made it through to the finals of the pre-selection contest.

Socialist MP Grigore Novac maintains that the Socialists have nothing in common with this contest for the selection of candidates for the position of Prosecutor General and does not understand why so many accusations are made against them. "We have not been and we are not involved in this entire story. We discussed a lot in the Legal Commission, we had very many questions about this pre-selection committee, but we decided: "Okay, do you want to do this? Let's do it." Moreover, the members of the commission are not affiliated to us, the Socialists, " stressed Grigore Novac.

In the opinion of the parliamentarian, even if the winners of the contest are people whom someone does not like, the results should not be canceled. "We should not accept the formula that if a candidate whom we do not like won, we must cancel the competition. Tomorrow no one will participate in these contests because they will see no point in it," said the MP.

The commission for the selection of candidates for the position of Prosecutor General had selected four of 16 candidates: Oleg Crîșmaru, Vladislav Gribincea, Veaceslav Soltan and Alexandr Stoianoglo. Subsequently, Prime Minister Maia Sandu asked the pre-selection committee to urgently verify the information published in the media and to examine the opportunity to re-evaluate the short list "due to the coming to light of new information about the integrity of a candidate from the contest shortlist."
