Vladimir Bolea: Nation can be now described as demoralized

‘Demoralization’ is a suitable word to characterizes the current state of the nation and the politicians should now struggle to mobilize and unite society so that the people on October 30 choose a person who will be able to generate changes in the country as President, Vladimir Bolea, deputy head of the Chisinau municipal organization of the Party “Action and Solidarity”, stated in the public debate “Specific features of presidential elections 2016: vision of parliamentary parties” of the series “What kind of President is society looking for? What society does the President need?”, held by IPN News Agency.

Vladimir Bolea said the upcoming elections for his party are a control period. “We witness an inequitable and fully illegal process of collecting signatures in favor of candidates and we refer to the ruling parties here,” he stated.

Speaking about the bank frauds, the politician said the theft of the US$1 billion significantly marked the country’s history. “The investigation has been delayed for two years. No person was held accountable. The solution seems not to suit those who are in power. Investigating the bank frauds and identifying those to blame should be among the priorities of the future President,” he noted.

As to the stability to which the representatives of the authorities make reference, Vladimir Bolea said nothing changed as regards the political players and a state of political crisis should be better witnessed in the country, with struggles and evolution, as the declared stability actually represents stagnation.

The politician also said that the geopolitical vote persists in Moldova and this shows that the state failed. The people see salvation coming from the EU and Romania or from the Russian Federation. As regards the presidential elections, Vladimir Bolea said the people should choose an upright, intelligent and skillful person. They should read the programs and listen to the candidates and should draw appropriate conclusions.

The September 22 public debate is the 61st installment of the series of debates “Developing political culture by public debates” that are staged by IPN with the assistance of the German foundation “Hanns Seidel”.
