The presence in Moldova’s Parliament of politicians who identify with everything that is Romanian is a condition that doesn’t stem from the political ambitions of some individuals - it is a necessity. This is the opinion of ex-Presidential Adviser, political analyst Vlad Țurcanu, as expressed during the “Sfatul Țării” show on 10TV, IPN reports.

In his opinion, this is necessary for the revival of certain processes that were abandoned, ones that concern connectivity in energy, transports, trade, media, and culture. “In the past, in Moldova we had central political forces that weren’t very preoccupied by this,” says Vlad Țurcanu.

According to him, the mission of Moldova’s unionist politicians is to implement all those projects that have been lagging for two decades and have tethered Moldova’s population, who left anyway, but under bad conditions, which brought the country to its current demographic state.

The analyst considers that the unionist camp currently doesn’t have a leader, but has enough valuable people, who should be identified and supported by the entire movement. Only afterwards should they head into negotiations with PAS and PPDA, striving for common participation in elections, thinks the analyst. If these negotiations aren’t accepted, the unionists will have no alternative other than candidating in uninominal precincts and lists. “The risk is that those several parties, which somehow want to capitalize on the votes of pro-unification voters, will all participate in the elections. This is a scenario to be avoided, in order to avoid a situation similar to that of the Chișinău local elections,” stated Vlad Țurcanu.

“The unionists should identify a group of persons who could negotiate with the current opposition on the streets, so that unionists are represented within the Parliament. Who these people are, I think is of no real importance,” stated Vlad Țurcanu.
