The chairman of the Moldova Business People Association, politician Vlad Plahotniuc, in the opening of the forum of this organization, underlined the necessity of continuing on the path of European integration and the pro-European reforms that are simultaneously necessary for the economic and social development of the country.
“The people want peace and order in the country. To offer them these, we must continue on the European path, which allows us to achieve economic and social results equal to those that we daily see and admire in the European countries,” said Vlad Plahotniuc.
In his speech, he also referred to the necessity of promoting and continuing reforms, especially those that can stimulate the development of the business community. “Strengthening the rule of law is my personal preoccupation and determination. Our common goal, my and of the government, is for the respect for the law and social equity to become the most important characteristic of the government. These conditions are absolutely necessary for encouraging competition, growing the economy and ensuring a transparent tax system for businesses. We also make effort to stop the abuses of inspection institutions that suffocate businesses by abusive, corrupt inspections and other methods of pressure,” stated Vlad Plahotniuc.
In particular, he mentioned the reformation of the inspection bodies. “I think the mentality of some functionaries that the business people must be treated as possible perpetrators of tax evasion should disappear. This approach discouraged the potential investors. The Government must suggest a clear and simple procedure for regulating inspections at business entities,” he added.
At the end of his speech, Vlad Plahotniuc undertook to support and maintain the political balance in the country.
The event involves the former President of the European Commission Jose Manuel Barroso, who also encouraged the Moldovan authorities to continue the pro-European reforms because these are beneficial for the country’s development.
