Besides Vlad Plahotniuc, chairman of the Moldovan Constitutional Court Alexandru Tanase also participated in the meeting, Info-Prim Neo learned from a press release of the Parliament. “In recent years, I noticed many problems and confusions in the Constitution, which led to institutional and political jams. That’s why we started a process of revising the Supreme Law, and we preparing it thoroughly. We are open to receive Poland’s expertise in this regard”, said Plahotniuc. The first answer came from Polish Constitutional Tribunal judges Mirosław Granat and Wojciech Hermeliński, who presented the methods and steps necessary for revising the Constitution in Poland. Andrzej Rzeplinski, head of the Constitutional Tribunal, remarked that his country was regarded by neighbors as a model of respecting the Constitution in a democracy. During the meeting, head of the Moldovan Constitutional Court Alexandru Tanase started a discussion about the role of the constitutional institution in a state of the law. Andrzej Rzeplinski told him that “a partnership between the constitutional forum and the Parliament is important for a proper lawmaking process, but there is the danger of politicizing the institution”, whose role is to monitor how the Constitution is respected. In this regard, the Moldovan First Deputy Speaker declared himself “an adept of the full independence of the Constitutional Court”.
