Businessman Vlad Plahotniuc said he will sue both those who malign him and those who spread this information, multiplying its effect, Info-Prim Neo reports. In a news conference on August 11, Plahotniuc said he will demand that the competent bodies take measures and stop the denigrating attacks on him that can have negative economic effects on his business. The businessman said that these attacks are staged by persons who are interested in destabilizing his business built during 20 years. He also said that he never encroached upon the property or businesses of other persons. Vlad Plahotniuc stated that he does not intend to go into politics and denied the rumors that he would apply for the post of Prime Minister if Marian Lupu became President of Moldova. Former presidential adviser Sergiu Mocanu asserted that Vlad Plahotniuc finances the Democratic Party of Moldova and controls a number of state and private institutions. On August 11, Sergiu Mocanu came before the reporters accompanied by businessmen, who according to him, can prove the wrongdoings committed by Plahotniuc. The same day, the court issued an order to sequestrate Mocanu’s apartment and car in a case in which Plahotniuc claims 2 million lei damages from the former presidential adviser for damaging his honor and dignity. The next hearing was scheduled for September 12. The case is investigation by the Rascani district court.
