The first deputy chairman of the Democratic Party (PDM) Vlad Plahotniuc said that he and his party colleagues believe that Moldova’s economic future is directly related to the foreign investors’ trust in the country’s stability. “We are obliged to keep stability in our country. We know that a powerful and developed democracy is the biggest guarantee for the foreign investors and we are thus obliged to keep and develop democracy as well,” Vlad Plahotniuc said in the opening of the Democratic Party’s Forum “Development of Moldova: economic growth for the people’s welfare”, IPN reports.
“We gathered together to analyze and discuss the situation and to try and find an answer to the question: How to develop Moldova? This is a very important problem that needs courageous answers and the best answer will be the one that will allow us to together achieve this objective, when we manage to realize the people’s potential, when we identity projects that will help us build a sustainable economy,” said the first deputy chairman of the PDM.
Vlad Plahotniuc added that Moldova’s development is a theme that the PDM will treat with the utmost seriousness, by openly discussing it with those from the party and not only. “This forum is attended not only by MPs and ministers of the PDM, but also by independent experts, businessmen and members of the diplomatic corps. We thus can hear many voices and can openly speak about what we managed to do and are yet to do. We must speak transparently, without equivoque,” said the politician.
He also said that the economy should be given the chance to fully realize its development potential. For the people this potential means first of all workplaces. “It’s time to realize that the people want development and progress here, at home, and now, not in an indefinite future,” stated Vlad Plahotniuc.
The politician concluded by saying that Moldova’s modernization should not be perceived as an illusion. If intelligent steps are taken, this modernization can come in several years. The people want this, while the Democrats can and will do this.
