Vlad Plahotniuc, the first deputy head of the Democratic Party (PDM), is the candidate for premiership proposed by the party. The announcement was made before the crowd that gathered in the square of the National Opera House to support the nomination of the candidate fielded by the Democrats, IPN reports.
Vlad Plahotniuc came out before the crowd and thanked those attending, saying he didn’t expect to see such a larger number of people there. “I want to tell you that you will hear only good news in 2016. Moldova will recover and we will bring things in order. We will bring peace and the lost hope to your homes. During the next few years, we will bring stability. We will bring back the joy and faith into your eyes,” stated the politician.
Earlier, members of the PDM went to the presidential villa in Condrita to inform President Nicolae Timofti who is the party’s candidate for premiership. The head of state is to decide whether to nominate this candidate for Prime Minister or not.
