Vlad Plahotniuc is not under investigation

Businessman Vlad Plahotniuc is not being investigated. The Prosecutor General’s Office (PG) decided not to launch an investigation as it did not identify criminal elements in his acts, Info-Prim Neo reports. In a communiqué, the PG says the accusations against Vlad Plahotniuc made by Sergiu Mocanu have been examined. The prosecutors questioned Vlad Plahotniuc and another ten persons. There were probed the alleged violations committed at BC VictoriaBank, SA Gemenii, filling stations in Calarasi district, SA Carmez, SA Franzeluta, SA Hotelul Chisinau, TVR1. The PG ordered opening three legal cases over non-fulfillment or inappropriate fulfillment of the duties by a person holding an important position, which resulted in considerable damage to the state budget. These violations are punished with a fine of 6,000 to 16,000 lei or two to six years’ imprisonment. The Prosecutor General’s Office filed civil lawsuits, asking annulling the sale of a plot of 3.3843 hectares located on Tabacaria Veche St in Chisinau and levying the value of the damage caused by selling the summer camp “Andries” to SA Macon” for 3.4 million lei. The PG also challenged the privatization of IS Complexul Hotelier Codru, “Moldova” sanatorium in Odessa, a plot of 10.65 hectares situated on T. Vladimirescu St in Chisinau, offices located at 53 Hancesti St and 62 Bucuresti St, and state holdings in SA Hotelul Chisinau and SA Moldova Tur.
