Any political destabilization could be catastrophic for the Republic of Moldova. But the early elections can be any time an option if the majority of the population wants this, if the people have an alternative to the government and want a change before time, considers the first deputy chairman of the Democratic Party Vlad Plahotniuc.

“If this is the real wish of society, not of a group of interests that wants to seize power, I see no problem in supporting it. It is an option that should be analyzed seriously. All the risks should be assessed and courageous decisions should be taken,” the politician says on his Facebook page.

According to the Democrat, after possible early elections everyone will be able to see who and what gained, what goals were pursued and what the alternative was.” If things go wrong, we know who bears responsibility,” he wrote.

Vlad Plahotniuc also said that the early elections must not scare anyone as they remain a veritable democratic instrument by which the people choose their leaders and they should be thus treated with the necessary attention and, especially, with appropriate responsibility.

“It is an option that we must analyze and this can be not the worst one,” Vlad Plahotniuc wrote, specifying that this is his personal opinion.
