Vlad Lupan: New elections in Moldova are painful, but necessary

Political analyst Vlad Lupan considers that new early elections in Moldova are painful, but necessary. The analyst has told Info-Prim Neo that the decision to hold a referendum and parliamentary and presidential elections in autumn, reached by the Alliance for European Integration, shows the four parties are able to reach a consensus. Vlad Lupan said the compromise solution of the Alliance is an internal and external accomplishment that is very important for Moldova's relations with the Venice Commission and the Council of Europe. “This is a painful consensus as it is not logical to hold so many early elections in Moldova. We will have the third round of elections and a referendum. But this solution is necessary as it will help unlock the political crisis in Moldova,” the analyst said.
