Former Prime Minister Vlad Filat will be able to apply for certain public posts. This became possible after the Communist and Liberal-Democratic MPs passed a draft decision that interprets the March 5 Parliament decision on giving a vote of no-confidence to the Government, IPN reports.
The head of the Liberal-Democratic faction Valeriu Strelet said the passing of the censure motion was a political act that cannot produce administrative or penal effects that would serve as reasons for banning functionaries who were dismissed from applying for certain public posts.
The draft decision says the MPs adopted the censure motion talking into account only the political motives and aimed to impose political punishment on the whole Cabinet for the general policies pursued by it.
On March 5, the Filat Government was dismissed by a censure motion for acts of corruption, traffic of influence and abuse of power. Basing on this motion, on April 22 the Constitutional Court ruled that ex-Prime Minister Vlad Filat can no longer apply for public posts.
The authors of the Parliament decision on the interpretation of the censure motion invoked the legislative body’s exclusive right to interpret legal acts.
