Vlad Filat: We pay attention to surveys as they show certain trends
We take the results of the surveys into account as they reveal certain trends, Prime Minister Vlad Filat, the leader of the Liberal Democratic Party said, referring to the Public Opinion Barometer (POB) presented on May 26. Asked if he was contented with the percentage of 19% of the vote that the PLDM would poll according to the survey, Vlad Filat said that if the undecided persons are added to this figure, the result will be good, Info-Prim Neo reports.
The Premier said he competes with none of the political players. “It is the people who decide how good, popular or important a leader is. I and the party I represent do not work for percentages in opinion polls,” Vlad Filat said.
The Premier is the second most trusted figure, after the Democratic leader Marian Lupu. Asked if he was satisfied with such a result, Vlad Filat said that if the head of state was elected directly by the people, he would vote for Vlad Filat as he knows himself the best and has confidence in himself.
According to the POB, if legislative elections were held next Sunday, 29.5% of the Moldovans would vote for the Communists Party (PCRM), 19.2% for the Liberal Democratic Party (PLDM), 9.1% for the Democratic Party (PDM), while 8.2% for the Liberal Party (PL). The leader of the PDM Marian Lupu enjoys the greatest trust among the political figures. He is trusted by 43% of the respondents. Prime Minister Vlad Filat comes next with a slightly lower percentage. He is followed by the former President of Moldova, the leader of the PCRM Vladimir Voronin with 36%. The survey was carried out during April 24-May 14 and covered a sample of 1,115 persons from 75 settlements. The margin of error is plus-minus 3%.
