The leaders of the three pro-European parliamentary parties in the evening of July 13 agreed the governing method and the structure of the new Government, the leader of the Liberal Democratic Party (PLDM) Vlad Filat said after a new round of negotiations between the PLDM, PDM and PL, IPN reports.
“Tomorrow we will start to formalize the agreements reached until now. We agreed changes to the structure of the Government, which will be made in the context of the reform of the central public administration, and agreed the territorial-administrative reform. We didn’t discuss the distribution of posts or candidates for premiership. The current negotiations started from zero as we want to build a new alliance. By the end of this month we will install a new Government. We want an efficient governing coalition,” said Vlad Filat.
The leader of the PLDM also said that they discuss the problem of election of the President, but haven’t yet reached an agreement. “We must agree exactly the method of choosing the head of state. We must not enter a new political crisis in several months after overcoming the current one. There are not many options. We are to decide whether to look for votes in Parliament to elect the head of state by 61 votes or to amend the Constitution by a referendum so that the President is elected by a simple majority of votes,” he stated.
