Vlad Filat: Vladimir Voronin got lost in referendums

Vladimir Voronin got lost in referendums, the chairman of the Liberal-Democratic Party Vlad Filat said, commenting on the Communists’ intention to hold another consultative referendum to repeat the Law on Guaranteeing of Equality. “I think he should concentrate on fulfilling the promises made to the Moldovan people. Every politician in our country decides how to act. My goal in life is to make sure that the Moldovans enjoy rights, freedoms and welfare and to offer prospects by what I do for Moldova,” the Premier said in a news conference. The leader of the Communist parliamentary group Maria Postoiko has told Info-Prim Neo that they already opened consultations on the procedure for initiating the referendum. In April, the Communist Party filed an application to the Central Election Commission (CEC), asking organizing a plebiscite with the question “Do you trust the current Parliament of the 19th legislature?”. The PCRM wants the referendum to take place in autumn. The CEC suspended the examination of the application after two persons requested the Prosecutor General’s Office to verify the lists with signatures in support of the plebiscite.
