The leader of the PLDM Vlad Filat will be designated for Prime Minister. A relevant decree will be issued by Moldova's caretaker president Mihai Ghimpu later today, Info-Prim Neo reports. The Head of Parliament Mihai Ghimpu discussed Filat's candidacy with every parliamentary group apart after the legislature's sitting. “The decree on Vlad Filat's appointment will be signed today by 16.00. We need a government like we need air,” Mihai Ghimpu said. The Speaker also said that the Communist MPs asked him not to hurry with the signing of the decree as they also have a candidate for Premier. “If they have a candidate, they should present him today. We do not have time to wait because the country is in a difficult situation,” Ghimpu said. “This post is a great honor for me as well as a responsibility,” said Vlad Filat. Asked about the governmental team that he will lead, Filat said that they now discuss the professional component of the executive's composition “For me, it is very important that the future Government is functional. The political component will also exist, but first of all we will take into account the professional skills of the Cabinet members” he said. Neither Mihai Ghimpu nor Vlad Filat wanted to say how the posts of ministers will be distributed. They said only that they will not consider the number of seats obtained after the July 29 elections.”It will be a wrong step if we distribute the posts this way,” Ghimpu said. Speaking about the government program, Vlad Filat said that the abolition of the visa regime for Romanian travelers will be a priority.
