Vlad Filat tells Moldovan students in Romania to come home with wide knowledge

At a meeting with Bessarabian students studying in Romania, the Prime Minister of Moldova Vlad Filat summed up the results of his visit to Romania and called on them to come home with a wide knowledge and help Moldova join the European family, Info-Prim Neo’s correspondent in Bucharest reports. The Premier said the two-day visit helped lay the basis for reestablishing the Moldova-Romanian relations. “All the issues have been addressed pragmatically. Romanian’s President Traian Basescu, the Head of Senate Mircea Geoana and the acting Prime Minister Emil Boc assured me that they will support Moldova in all its efforts. The pace at which Moldova will become part of the EU depends on this support. Many of you fought to remove the Communists from power and together we will bring the European values to Moldova,” he said. The students inquired about the possibility of reintroducing the History of Romanians in schools, the attitude towards the CIS, the financial situation in Moldova and the financing agreements, the fate of the public television company and when the consulates in Iasi, Balti and Cahul will become functional. Vlad Filat assured the students that the consulate in Iasi will start work in January next year, while those in Balti and Cahul – in the near future. A local consular office will be also opened in Ungheni. “The true history will soon return to schools and the textbooks will no more be used to misinform and manipulate the young generation.” Asked about the agreement concerning scholarships with Romania, Filat said that it will be signed soon and that talks will be carried out simultaneously over the exchange of experience between scientists. One of the students asked how the Communists Party can be outlawed. “The Communists will be removed by revealing the irregularities committed by them. The people will remove them, not the government,“ Filat said. As to the CIS, the Premier said that this is a non-functional organization and the decision to leave it will be made after analyzing all the effects of such a move. The Premier informed the students that a new border crossing point over the Prut, Lipcani-Radauti, will be soon opened, that the Romanian channel TVR will soon reappear in Moldova and that a new Chisinau-Iasi railway will be built from European funds, Info-Prim Neo reports.
