Prime Minister Vlad Filat said that a struggle between the legal power and the illegal one, which controls some of the state institutions and shows how they can be used in the political battle, is being fought in Moldova. “I have sent a message during many years – I’m not blackmailable. Nobody will be able to discuss ideas with me through pressure and blackmail. A lot of intimidation messages came to me and my colleagues lately,” the Premier said on February 18, when asking journalists’ questions, Info-Prim Neo reports. Making reference to the inspections carried out by the National Anticorruption Center at the Main State Tax Inspectorate and the Government, Vlad Filat said the actions taken have nothing to do with the fight against corruption. “It is a political confrontation. A party uses an institution that must’s be politicized,” he stated. The Liberal Democratic Party headed by the Premier gave a vote of no confidence to the Center’s administration. According to Filat, the reform at the National Anticorruption Center was promoted including by the Liberal-Democratic MPs and it’s natural for this vote to be for the observance of the law. “The people mustn’t have the feeling of fear and terror,” said Vlad Filat. He also said that Moldova now has a functional Parliament, a functional Government and functional state institutions and if a government official will obstruct or will sabotage the fulfillment of the duties they will be discharged immediately. Commenting on the statements that the Premier should resign, Vlad Filat said that those who accuse him of something should initiate the procedure for dismissing the Government, if they want this to happen. Last week, the Liberal Democratic Party withdrew from the agreement on the formation of the Alliance for European Integration, saying they are ready to negotiate a new agreement.
