The future prospect is to form a stable majority in Moldova’s Parliament and this option remains open for the colleagues from the PL, the chairman of the PLDM Vlad Filat said in the talk show “Reply” on Prime TV channel. No coalition with the Communist faction will be formed, IPN reports.

Vlad Filat noted that a minority government was voted in because the negotiations went much more difficult than it was anticipated. “The situation in which we are now is not at all the wanted and happy one. It resulted from a long and difficult process of negotiations that failed. We were to either continue those talks and witness the economic and social problems worsening in the country or to do as we did – to assume responsibility and form a PLDM-PDM coalition so as to invest the government,” he stated.

He also said the Liberals made a big mistake when they didn’t vote for the new Cabinet. They were offered the Ministry of Justice, the Ministry of Agriculture, the Ministry of Finance, and the Ministry of Health, but they insistently demanded the Ministry of Transport, invoking ultimately that this was the reason why the alliance wasn’t formed.

Vlad Filat stated he would like the Communist MPs to take part in what Moldova’s development means, given that they supported and voted for the new Government.

He noted that forming a minority government wasn’t an easy decision, but Chiril Gaburici has the abilities needed to cope with all the difficulties. “The effort of all those who want things in Moldova to improve will be needed in the future,” said the leader of the PLDM, adding that conditions will be created in Parliament for adopting bills of a major interest for the country and for formalizing a parliamentary majority.

According to him, it is now important for the Government to deal with the problems, not to be just a spectator.

The Gaburici Government, which does not enjoy majority support in Parliament, was invested on February 18.
