The vote of the Liberal Party (PL) must be for the Government and the Government’s program, not for the post of Prime Minister, the Liberal-Democratic leader Vlad Filat said, commenting on the PL’s decision not to support his candidacy for premiership, IPN reports.
”The decisions they take concern them. In the meeting I had with colleagues from the Democratic Party and the Liberal Party, I said that we will show respect for political parties’ decisions, even if we do not agree with them. We also ask them to respect the Liberal Democratic Party’s decisions,” the acting Premier told the journalists.
Vlad Filat said the PLDM will propose a candidate for the post of Premier to President Nicolae Timofti in the neat future.
The Liberal Party said that the PLDM must suggest another person for premiership and maintain Moldova’s European integration program. According to the Liberal leader Mihai Ghimpu, if the Lib-Dems insist on the candidacy of Vlad Filat, they should assume responsibility for causing early elections.
