The Liberal Democratic Party of Moldova (PLDM) has already 90% of the candidates for the post of mayor in the 889 mayor’s offices, who will run in the local general elections of June 14, the party’s leader Vlad Filat said in the Forum of Local Elected Officials of the PLDM held on April 4, IPN reports.
“We have more than 350 mayors representing the PLDM. In 15 districts, we have our district heads. Our task in the local administration is very important. We are ready for this important electoral exercise that will take place on June 14. Today we will exchange opinions on what we have to do and will soon enter the election campaign with the only goal of winning victory,” stated the Liberal-Democratic leader.
Next week, the decisional forum of the municipal organization of the PLDM is to agree the candidate for the mayoralty of Chisinau. “We will have candidates for all the mayor’s offices of the country. Our candidates will be suitable and prepared for serving also as local and district councilors,” said Vlad Filat.
The Forum of Local Elected Officials of the PLDM involved more than 1,200 delegates.
