Prime Minister Vlad Filat, the leader of the Liberal Democratic Party (PLDM), was questioned as a witness in the cases related to the April 7, 2009 events on June 7. He had been quizzed by about two hours and will appear again before the prosecutors next week, Info-Prim Neo reports. The Premier said he made no new statements and did not change his position that the April 7, 2009 events represented a protest against the Communist governors who had ruled the country for eight years. “It was a peaceful protest that generated into a riot at the hands of provokers who promoted the interests of the Communists Party,” Vlad Filat explained. He said that as a citizen he is dissatisfied that the investigation into the April events lasts for so long. “At the same time, I understand that this is a complicated process, but the investigation should reveal the truth and provide answers to the people's questions,” Vlad Filat said.
