Vlad Filat: I reasserted in Brussels that European integration is a major objective

“Our European partners assured us they will continue to support Moldova, while we, for our part, reconfirmed our determination to take measures to achieve the European integration objective,” Prime Minister Vlad Filat said on his return from Brussels, were he had been on a visit on February 8-10, Info-Prim Neo reports. Vlad Filat said that his meetings with European officials centered on the formulation of the national plan on the implementation of the plan of action for liberalizing the visa regime with the EU, which is to be approved in the next meeting of the Government. They also discussed details of the meeting of the Moldova-EU Cooperation Committee that will take place in Brussels on May 5. The talks on the agreement to create a deep and comprehensive free trade area will start then. Another subject for discussions was the energy sector, namely the diversification of the energy sources in Moldova by interconnection with the European energy market. These issues will be discussed during the visit of the EU Commissioner for Energy Gunther Oettinger to Chisinau in October this year.
