Vlad Filat: Government coalition's actions must enjoy Western partners' support
Prime Minister Vlad Filat says that any action aimed at modifying the Constitution of Moldova or organizing early legislative elections should enjoy the support of all the important foreign partners, Info-Prim Neo reports.
“In our steps aimed at modifying the Constitution, we will be guided by the viewpoints of our foreign partners, including the Venice Commission,” the Premier said on March 15.
Vlad Filat informed that he had today a telephone conversation with the president of the Venice Commission and that the organization will make public its final recommendations after its ordinary meeting set to take place on June 3-4.
“The Venice Commission expressed its viewpoint (the Commission recommended holding early elections - e.n.) and listened to our stance. We will now ponder over,” Vlad Filat said.
“This is a difficult process that should end with the unification of the society, not its division.”
Next week, the Moldovan Premier will pay a working visit to Brussels and meet with European commissioners, including the administration of the Council of Europe.
