Vlad Filat goes to Brussels on May 4

Prime Minister Vlad Filat will be paying a visit to Brussels on May 4-6. He will be accompanied by Deputy Prime Ministers Iurie Leanca and Eugen Carpov, Deputy Minister of Economy Octavian Calmac, Deputy Minister of Justice Oleg Efrim, and Deputy Foreign Minister Natalia Gherman. The delegation will also include the deputy head of the Foreign Ministry’s European Integration Department Eugen Caras and the Head of Moldova’s Mission to the European Communities Daniela Cujba, Info-Prim Neo reports. The Premier said the discussions with the European officials will center on the relations between Moldova and the EU, the implementation by Moldova of the European integration reforms, including the plan of action on the liberalization of the visa regime for Moldovan travelers. Moldova also hopes to obtain the EU’s consent to opening the talks on the creation of the Deep and Comprehensive Free Trade Area with the EU, which will form part of the Association Agreement, in the second half of this year. A meeting of the Moldova-EU Cooperation Council will take place in Brussels during May 4-6.
