“Given my processional duties, I’m responsible for ensuring the coordination and good functioning of the Government’s activity. It was the reason why I did not allow those who wanted to attend the Cabinet’s meeting to enter,” Prime Minister Vlad Filat said, referring to the fact that Communist lawmaker Eduard Musuc was banned from entering the meeting hall on Wednesday, Info-Prim Neo reports. While the sympathizers of the PCRM were protesting in front of the Government Building, seeking the resignation of the AEI, Eduard Musuc went up to the sixth floor, where the ministers were holding a meeting, in order to pass on a petition from the Communists to the Premier. The MP was yet stopped by the guard. Vlad Filat said an MP who wants to attend the meeting should announce his intention beforehand and come before it starts. “Today I ascertained with regret that a party claiming to be serious went down to such a low level, which is a scandalous level,” he stated. “I told my colleagues from the Cabinet that we must continue fulfilling our duties in accordance with the law and the executive’s work program so that the people benefit from the necessary services. This means salaries, health and education services, public order. Those who want Moldova to see disorder, despair and segregation of society should assume this behavior. I think the people have the ability to make a difference,” said the Prime Minister. In its petition, the PCRM demands that the Alliance for European Integration resign immediately and unconditionally. It accuses the government of not fulfilling the promises it made, namely that it did not increase the population’s incomes, did not protect and support the business community, did not ensure a qualitatively new level in the public health system and education, and did not strengthen the state institutions in order to guarantee the observance of human rights. The Communist Party also said the Moldovan people no longer associate their future with the Alliance for European Integration and thus it should resign.
