Vlad Filat: European integration is our national priority

The Moldovan administration focuses on the fulfillment of the national plans and the European integration is now the top priority. Moldova is obliged to sign the Association Agreement with the EU next year and it will sign it, the leader of the Liberal Democratic Party Vlad Filat said in Vilnius, after the Association Agreement between Moldova and the European Union was initialed, IPN’s correspondent in Vilnius reports.

Asked if he expects internal and external challenges to be launched after this event, Vlad Filat said there were challenges earlier too and the current government coped with them, showing political wisdom and maturity. “Now we need unity, not only between parties, but in the entire society. Any challenge can be dealt with. European officials’ messages suggest that we should continue implementing reforms,” he stated.

Foreign journalists asked if Moldova is examining the possibility of uniting with Romania. “Such a possibility is not considered. Such interpretations appeared because somebody wants to speculate on this topic,” said the Liberal-Democratic leader.

As to the relations with Russia, Vlad Filat said that Moldova wants to keep the good relations with this country.
