Vlad Filat discusses situation in Moldova with Fule and Tusk

The current situation in Moldova was the subject of the telephone discussions of Prime Minister Vlad Filat and two European officials – his Polish counterpart Donald Tusk, and European Commissioner for Enlargement and European Neighborhood Policy Stefan Fule, Info-Prim Neo reports. According to a communiqué from the Government, in the conversation with Stefan Fule, Vlad Filat stressed the necessity of continuing the changes so that Moldova becomes a true state of law with modern European institutions servicing the people’s interests. Speaking about the Moldova-EU relations, the Premier underlined that the talks on the Association Agreement should be closed in March so that Moldova is able to pave the way for initialing and signing this agreement. He reiterated Moldova’s commitment to continue implementing the Visa Liberalization Action Plan. Stefan Fule appreciated the development of the Moldova-EU relations, mentioning the progress made until now at multiple levels. He said the EU will continue to assist Moldova in implementing democratic deforms and in coming closer to it. When discussing with Donald Tusk, Vlad Filat said that Poland is an important partner of Moldova, while the expertise of the Polish partners helps the Moldovan authorities in achieving the European integration aspirations. He underlined that the Moldovan-Polish relations developed considerably over the last few years and should keep the same pace. For his part, Donald Tusk noted the progress made by Moldova on the path to European integration and confirmed his country’s full support to Moldova for achieving the set objectives.
