Vlad Filat discusses government program with employers

Premier designate Vlad Filat continues the consultations on the new government program of the executive. Today, January 5, the Prime Minister has met with representatives of employers starting at 11am. As in yesterday’s meeting with trade unionists, the meeting is held behind closed doors. Contacted by Info-Prim Neo before the meeting, the chairman of the National Employers Confederation of Moldova Leonid Cerescu said the employers prepared a series of proposals aimed at improving the executive’s work. Among the main suggestions are establishing closer cooperation with the social partners and engaging the employers in the formulation and approval of primary and secondary legislation. The National Employers Confederation will suggest keeping the existing tax rates given the financial crisis faced by Moldova. Leonid Cerescu said the representatives of the Government should pay increased attention to the insurance system in the new year as this area has not been adequately explored. The regulation of the entrepreneurial activity will be another proposal. “We will see how well we are understood, but we hope our proposals will be accepted,” Leonid Cerescu stated. The next days, Vlad Filat will have consultations on the executive’s new government program with representatives of civil society.
