The leader of the Liberal Democratic Party Vlad Filat said the party will make everything possible to avoid early elections. After Parliament took a new break in the extraordinary session on Thursday, the politician said that Friday will be the day when decisions will be taken, IPN reports.
“The parliamentary groups are to field candidates for the post of Head of Parliament. Regrettably, we didn’t have meetings in trilateral format today. We will try to ensure communication and to achieve a result until tomorrow. This blockage is due to the Liberal Party,” stated Vlad Filat.
Speaking about Liberals’ and Democrats’ assertions that they will not renounce the Ministry of Transport, the Liberal-Democratic leader noted that this is not serious polemics. “It’s not only about the distribution of ministries. It is about different views. The political games are important, but we already went too far,” said Vlad Filat, warning that the early elections would be a disaster for Moldova.
The negotiations between the pro-European parties, which lasted for almost two months, didn’t result in the formation of a majority coalition and the PDM called on the PLDM to assume responsibility for governance together with it, without the PL. Vlad Filat considers there is yet space for maneuvering in the discussions with the Liberals.
