Vlad Filat confident that ruling alliance will be announced by December 28
The leader of the Liberal-Democrats Vlad Filat, after the meeting with the Liberals, said that the talks on the formation of the governing alliance will start next week. At the same time, the president of the PL Mihai Ghimpu said they consider the negotiations have opened, Info-Prim Neo reports.
The two leaders said that they did not discuss the distribution of posts, but the principles and values. Vlad Filat said that today or tomorrow they will contact the Communists Party to confer on the situation in Moldova and the steps that should be taken.
The Liberal-Democrats' offer will be ready at the start of next week. Vlad Filat said he is confident that the governing alliance will be announced by December 28, when the first sitting of the new legislative body might take place.
Mihai Ghimpu said he was satisfied with the discussions they had and the PL would form part of the government coalition. If it did not, the Communists would return to power and the Democratic reforms would be stopped. He said that he would discuss with representatives of the PDM as well, but has not yet decided how – over the phone or face-to-face.
The PLDM – PL meeting took place at the presidential residence located on N. Iorga St. The Liberal-Democrats met with representatives of the PDM at a restaurant on Thursday. Asked why the place of the meeting was changed, the Liberal-Democrat leader said it does not matter where it takes place and he is ready to meet with the Communists at the head office of the PLDM or of the PCRM.
The PL was represented at the meeting by Mihai Ghimpu, Anatol Salaru and Ion Hadarca, while the PLDM – by Vlad Filat, Mihai Godea and Alexandru Tanase.
