Ex-Premier Vlad Filat, who was recently sentenced to nine years’ imprisonment, has announced that he divorces his wife, journalist Angela Gonta. On a social networking site, the politician wrote that the decision to file for divorce was taken by him, IPN reports.
“I want to apologize publicly to Angela for the attacks to which she was subject in the period by the pocket press. The miseries will definitely continue because these journalists, like cowards, decided to struggle not only with me, but also with my family,” Vlad Filat says in his message.
On June 27, Vlad Filat got nine years behind bars. He was also fined 60,000 lei and will have a part of his property, including vehicles and a house, confiscated.
