Vlad Batrincea: Unionism is a challenge for state security

The union idea is not only a challenge for most of the population, but is also a challenge for state security, Socialist MP Vlad Batrincea stated in the program “Key issue” on NTV Moldova channel, IPN reports.

According to him, the union idea is a danger threatening the rule of law, is a challenge for state security and for most of the people. “When an aggressive radical minority provokes the whole society, openly imposing the own agenda on the whole society, this undoubtedly generates the people’s concern and tensions in society,” stated Vlad Batrincea.

The MP considers the current power legitimizes unionists’ actions. “What does our power say? That this is freedom of expression. What freedom can we speak about when the basic norms of the legislation are violated?” he asked. According to him, the Democratic leader Vladimir Plahotniuc is playing with the unionists now. “Without the Democratic Party, nobody would have opened the education institutions to unionists,” stated Vlad Batrincea, adding that such inaction on the part of the power can lead to a crisis.

The Socialist MP noted that on March 25, when the Great Centenary Assembly was set to take place, the unionists will be unable to gather together many people at the event as a large mass can be mobilized for a popular idea only. The Socialists will follow the events and will organize a national front later, if need be.
