In one of the first sittings of the next Parliament, the Socialist MPs will suggest a bill providing that the MPs who will leave the group of the party on whose ticket they entered the legislative body, they will be stripped of the seat, Socialist MP Vlad Batrîncea was quoted by IPN as saying in the talk show “Key issue” on NTV Moldova channel.
“We have two systemic bills designed to bring party switching and buying of MPs to an end. The first says the MP’s attempt to leave the group will lead to the loss of seat. The second provides the Constitution will be amended so that the Republic of Moldova becomes a presidential state,” noted Vlad Batrîncea.
In the second case, the people elect the President who is the head of the execute power and names the Government. “It’s clear who governs the country. Parliament will simply adopt laws, codes and will improve the legislation and the nature of this corruption among the MPs will disappear as they will not name the Government and will not influence the processes for which they are now bought,” stated the MP.
According to him, the modification of the form of government is what the people want. “The people want to see a clear power. If they vote a President, they want this to rule,” noted the politician, adding he is firmly convinced that this amendment will be supported by the people.
